Mission Statement

The Orange Film and Arts Festival is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of Southeast Texas by supporting independent filmmakers, visual artists, performers, and storytellers. Our mission is to provide an inclusive platform that celebrates creativity, fosters artistic education, and promotes community engagement through film screenings, arts programming, workshops, and live performances.

We are committed to empowering emerging and established artists, inspiring youth through educational initiatives, and strengthening our community by making the arts accessible to all.

Meet The Team

Daniel Katzman, Co- Founder and Festival Director

Daniel Katzman is a 30+ year veteran of Film and Television production. He has worked as a producer and director with all Television networks and all Major Studios (Warner Bros, Disney, Netflix, Sony, Amazon and Paramount) including the Emmy winning series, ““The Act” for Hulu. His passion is guiding the next generation of filmmakers through proper techniques and training to make their project a success.

Candice Harrison, Co-Founder and Festival Director

Candice Harrison is born and raised in Orange and her roots to the town run deep with family, community involvement and businesses. She has worked for over a decade in the film and television industry as a Screen Writer, Actress and Producer. She is also a published children’s book author.

Maurice Ableman, Mural Fest Founder and Director

Maurice Abelman is a graphic artist , muralist, and Coordinator of Graphic Design at Lamar State College Port Arthur, specializing in contemporary art, public murals, and experiential learning. His work focuses onlarge-scale community art projects, branding, and creative leadership.

Alicia Ableman, Theatre Arts Production Director

Alicia Ableman is deeply involved in the local arts community, serving as President of the Educational Theatre Association and Director of the Theatre Arts Program for CHSEL. When she is not preparing for productions, she paints large scale murals with her husband throughout Southeast Texas, bringing bold color and creativity to the community.
